Michael Schlappig is a Managing Director in the Restructuring and Special Situations Group at PJT Partners, based in New York.
Examples of Mr. Schlappig’s public assignments include Magnum Hunter Resources Corporation, GT Advanced Technologies, Inc., LightSquared LP, NII Holdings, Inc., Essar Steel Algoma Inc., Clearwire Corporation, TerreStar Networks, TerreStar Corporation and Pacific Drilling SA. Prior to joining PJT Partners, Mr. Schlappig spent five years at Blackstone where he advised on restructuring, capital raise, financing and M&A transactions. Before joining Blackstone in 2010, Mr. Schlappig was an Associate at Lazard, where he executed multiple middle market M&A transactions across a range of industries.
Mr. Schlappig received a BA from Cornell University with a major in Economics and a minor in French Area Studies. He also received an MBA from Columbia Business School with a concentration in Finance and Economics, where he graduated with honors.
