
Sangwook Cho
Senior Advisor
Sangwook Cho is a Senior Advisor at PJT Partners.
Mr. Cho has over 25 years of experience in investment banking, with deep expertise in cross-border M&A and capital markets in Korea. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Head of Korea Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley from 2013 to 2025. Mr. Cho joined Morgan Stanley in 2005, and over his two-decade tenure at the firm executed more than $50 billion in completed M&A transactions and over $20 billion in capital markets transactions across multiple market cycles, working in close coordination with global teams. His transaction record includes some of Korea's most significant deals, among them the $10.8 billion IPO of LG Energy Solutions, a leading global EV battery manufacturer - the largest IPO in Korean history - and the $3.8 billion sale of eBay Korea, a major Korean online retail platform.
Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. Cho began his investment banking career at Lehman Brothers in New York in the Communications & Media Group, before relocating to Seoul to lead the firm's expansion in the Korean market.
In addition to PJT Partners, Mr. Cho serves as a Senior Advisor to Pinestreet Asset Management and on the board of Solid Inc., listed in Korea.
Mr. Cho holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Korea University and an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Accounting from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
