Anne Sheehan

From 2008 through 2018, Ms. Sheehan was the first and sole person to hold the position of CalSTRS Director of Corporate Governance. At CalSTRS, Ms. Sheehan oversaw the team responsible for all corporate governance activities, including company engagements, filing of shareholder resolutions and proxy voting activities in addition to managing $4 billion placed with activist managers. During this time, she served two terms as the Chair of the Council of Institutional Investors, helped to found the Investor Stewardship Group, was a board member of and co-chaired the NASDAQ Listing Council and a founding board member of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).

Ms. Sheehan is a member of the board of directors of Victoria’s Secret & Co., a member of the Board of Janus Henderson Group and was a member of the board of directors of Cohn Robbins Holding Corporation from 2020 to 2023, and sits on the Advisory Boards of the Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford University and the Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware. She formerly served as the chair of the SEC Investor Advisory Committee. She has been named one of the 100 most influential people in corporate governance by Directorship magazine.
