James C. Murray is a Partner in the Strategic Advisory Group at PJT Partners, based in San Francisco, having joined its predecessor company in 2014.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Murray has managed relationships with wireless carriers, mobile device manufacturers, satellite communications ventures, aerospace, automotive, and defense / intel primes, media conglomerates and major Internet companies in the United States, Europe and Asia. Mr. Murray has led advisory teams on public and private company mergers, leveraged buyouts, special committee assignments and corporate restructurings. He has accumulated extensive capital markets experience, including the successful IPOs of numerous TMT companies on the NYSE, NASDAQ and LSE. Before joining PJT Mr. Murray spent 14 years at Morgan Stanley in New York and Chicago.
Prior to his time at Morgan Stanley, Mr. Murray spent 5 years at Monitor Company, a strategy consulting firm focused on telecommunications and competitive intelligence, based in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Cambridge.
Mr. Murray has an AB in Government from Harvard College and studied International Relations and Economics at the London School of Economics.
